Jan MacDonald,
School Director

Jan became the director of Complex Co-operative Nursery School on 2001. Prior to this she worked at the nursery School as a teacher for four years. Before that Jan worked at various schools within the City of Kingston. She holds an E.C.E. Diploma and is a member of the College of Early Childhood Educators.

Jan lives in Kingston with her 18 year old son, Graham, who attends Frontenac High School. Her 22 year old son, Josh, is a photographer attending Ryerson University in Toronto. Christa, Jan's 24 year old daughter, is a West Jet flight attendant, residing in Otawa, while continuing to complete her B.A. in Psychology at Ottawa University. All three of Jan's children attended Complex Co-operative Nursery School.

Suzanne Owen,
Teacher

Suzanne joined Complex Cooperative Nursery School in 2006. She is dedicated to providing a stimulating and fun environment for children to grow and learn.

She brings with her a love for music and art and is the music teacher at Complex Cooperative.

Anna Brown,
"   The 3rd Teacher "

Anna was offered the position of the third teacher for the CCNS last April 2010. She happily accepted the position and is thrilled to come to work here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings! This was not Anna"s first encounter with the nursery school! She did some supply teaching and watched her daughter, Andrea graduate from CCNS in 2005.

Anna is married to a wonderful mad scientist (a Queen"s professor) and has three children: Robert (15 years), Timothy (13 years) and Andrea (10 years). She is originally from Toronto (she always has to apologize for that) and her husband Steve is from Halifax (an amazing part of Canada).

With regards to her training, Anna feels fortunate to have the best of both worlds. She has her E.C.E (Early Childhood Education) degree from Ryerson Polytechnical University and her Bachelor of Education (teaching degree for elementary school) from the University of Toronto.

When not at the Nursery School, Anna is very busy selling Mary Kay skin care products (to anyone who is interested), gardening and trying to play the guitar.

According to Jan,

"There is nothing quite like the satisfaction I receive from being able to help children learn something new. Each day is different, just as each child is different, and there are always lots of smiles, hugs, and things to laugh about together.

I love the way our school supports and encourages the friendly, family atmosphere that always leads to valuable continuing friendships between both the children and parents from around the world."
